This pretty 1939 ERA E-Type GP2 was recently on display at The Royal Automobile Club and was built to champion British prestige in European motor racing.
It is fitted with a six-cylinder 1980cc engine, producing 205bhp and capable of a top speed of 130mph.
Only 20 ERA cars were ever built and this particular one, an E-Type GP2, won and broke lap records throughout 1948 despite it being a 10-year old car.
The car was recently meticulously restored, which earned it the ‘Restoration of the Year’ prize at the Club’s Historic Awards last year.
